Will 'KITT', the car from the new Knight Rider be recovered before Wednesday?

Settled as No

Clearly a pathetic publicity stunt, but no "news" of recovery, so settled as no.

Background:

We can all agree that the new Knight Rider TV series seriously sucks. So in a vain attempt to get publicity, did the Network Exec's fake KITT's theft? The YouTube video below purports to show the car being stolen, but you never know with the networks. The alleged 'abduction" of KITT took place last week during a publicity event near Union Station in Toronto.

In the video, KITT has been driven into the middle of the road, left with the engine running, then out of nowhere a pedestrian runs up, gets in the car and speeds off in it. Following the theft, the crowd and the stage crew seem to be totally confused...

The YouTube video apparently showing the 'abduction' taking place:

As of the time this was written, the constables up in Toronto can't confirm the theft, and said they hadn't been informed of the incident as of yet. Supposed leaks from Canwest and Global TV state that they "don't know where the car is"

A local music group (see their Myspace page here) was able to snap some photos of the supposed thief as he walked up to the car as well as photos of idling policemen who didn't seem to be particularly worried about the events unfolding.

Bottom line here is that it doesn't look like this was a real theft. When TV networks make such crappy remakes like Knight Rider and find viewers really don't care all that much, they search for silly ways to save the series like staging fake thefts. Well, guess what networks, they don't work and never will, especially when it's a crap show like Knight Rider!
