TNS Media Intelligence said Monday that 30-second commercials during next month's Super Bowl on CBS are selling for between $2.5 million and $2.8 million. That's a drop from last year, when ads averaged $3 million on NBC -- a record, according to TNS.

Background:

Background: The Super Bowl is normally the most-watched sporting event on American television. 97.4 million viewers watched this year's championship game. To many viewers, the commercials are more important than the game. Consequently, NBC is asking advertisers to pay $3 million for 30 seconds of commercial time for Super Bowl XLIII. This fee is up from $2.7 million for XLII.

This market will settle when the TV network first announces the advertising rate for the 2010 game (XLIV). It will be based on Hubdubbers' net worths at that time. A 1:1 conversion from H$ to US$ will be assumed.

This gets difficult: still no final result: http://adage.com/superbowl10/article?article_id=140588

"between 2,5 and 3m"

Do we need a highest price or an average? Will CBS announce the 2010 price?

It is 6 for 3m and 9 for 2,7m.
