Will India's Chandrayaan-1 probe successfully send data from lunar orbit?

Settled as Yes

An Indian probe landed on the moon on Friday, the Indian Space Research Organisation announced, in a milestone for the country's 45-year-old space programme.

The probe touched down on the moon at 8:34pm (1504 GMT), 25 minutes after it was ejected from an unmanned spacecraft orbiting the moon, spokesman S. Satish said.

"During its descent from Chandrayaan-1 an onboard video camera transmitted lunar pictures to the ISRO command centre," Satish said in the southern Indian city of Bangalore where the national space agency is headquartered.

Background:

Background: India is currently set to launch their first lunar orbiter, the Chandrayaan-1, in October 2008 (although there are reports that it may miss its launch window and be delayed to December to avoid the cyclone season). The probe's mission is to survey the chemical and topographical characteristics of the lunar surface.

This question will settle as a "yes" if the Chandrayaan-1 is successfully launched, enters lunar orbit, and is able to send back lunar data from orbit.

If the launch is delayed, settlement will be postponed until whenever the mission occurs.
