Will GE meet its lowered profit forecast for 2008?

Settled as No

From the GE Press Report: http://www.ge.com/pdf/investors/events/01232009/ge_webcast_pressrelease_01232009.pdf

"Full-year (FY) EPS of $1.79 before preferred dividend, or $1.78 attributable to common shareowners;
FY earnings of $18.1 billion"

The lowered forecast was for $19.5 to 21 billion, so they did not meet their adjusted prediction. News was released on January 23, so suspension time is set for 8 AM EST on 1/23. Wagers made after that time are voided and refunded.

I am not a financial expert, but believe this market should settle as no. Below is a financial report from GE. If further information is needed, google, "ge 2008 financial report." There is a lot of information on this. I believe that the 2008 EPS is 1.79 or less.

If the earning are greater than expected, this would also qualify as a YES. Only if they do not meet the lower end of the expected range will it qualify as a NO,
