Background:
Will there be a major video game legal decision in October? By major, this means that a substantive issue was addressed in the decision, and not simply a ruling on an evidentiary motion or other non-dispositive motion. This could mean that a case whose survival was in doubt survived a motion to dismiss, (or didn't), or that a decision was rendered.
There's a couple ongoing cases right now, IGE v. Hernandez, class action against EA, copyright infringement against Sony, Activision vs. 6 john does, etc. So there's a good chance that it will happen with at least one of the cases. In fact, it almost happened just this week, with the Jack Thompson disbarment proceedings, which came through earlier than expected.
