Will the US Congress pass a bailout package by the end of October?
Settled as Yes
Background: So we're to round two. The first attempt at passing some sort of bill failed pretty unexpectedly on Sept. 29th. Congress and the politicians were rewarded nicely for their inaction on the bailout bill, with record losses on Wall Street and worldwide financial markets. The Dow dropped a whopping 777 points it's largest daily point drop since inception. Naturally after the failure to get the bill passed the House, Pelosi and Boehner played the blame game, pointing fingers at each other for the small mishap in not passing the $700 Billion bailout plan.
In the first analysis though both sides had members who didn't vote for the bailout, around 100 Dem's split from the party line as well as the GOP. The House Republicans did very little to hide there displeasure with the plan and in the end they made a point of sticking to principle, at least some of them.
With world markets in disarray and awaiting a answer from Washington many analysts expect the bailout plan to be approved by the end of this week but time will tell if that will happen. (Keep in mind these are the same analysts who thought the plan would go through just fine...). All sarcasm aside it does look likely that Congress will get their crap together all $700 Billion of it!!!
