Background:

Background: Beijing has decided to capitalize on recent experience in hosting international sports events by taking on the inaugural World Mind Games, to be held October 3 - October 18.

Nearly 4,000 competitors and officials from 143 countries and regions are taking part in the two-week event. 3,000 challengers will be competing for 35 gold medals in five events - bridge, chess and draughts, Go and Xiangqi or Chinese chess. And yes - there are also doping controls, all tests have been negative so far.

I hope nerds everywhere are excited at this new chance to shine!

Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source. In the event of a tie, the number of silver and bronze medals will be used to distinguish an ultimate winner. If there is still a tie, the question may be double-settled. In the result of lack of clarity on which region the country falls into, 'UN World Macro Regions and Components' will be used as the decisive source, as indicated by our Rules.
