Will an American company top the Forbes Global 2000 in 2009?

Current forecast: 71% chance
Combining all predictions, the current forecast is that this is 71% likely to happen (unchanged in last 1 day)

With the global economic recession of 2008 hitting hard, finance and banking-related activities are expected to take a serious downturn for a few months, or even years, while investors flock to more traditional and stable business models. Technology, energy, and pharmaceutical stocks keep going up when all others are going down. Some of the world's leading companies in those sectors are american, but can they survive being in the eye of the storm?

Just a note.....4 of the top five companies from 2008 were American, BUT, most have been having a hard time of it lately...very good question...who will be on top according to Forbes
