Interestingly, I can't find either result on FOX's actual site. They keep saying that it was a draw, or Obama won: http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/16/candidates-race-battlegrounds-feisty-debate/
Settlement requested Thu 16th Oct 5:27pm PDT by pulloverthatasstoophat: This should be settled as McCain. Of all the links that jenniandtheboys cited the only one that mentions the text polling is this one: http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/event/article/id/75910/
This article says: "Fox News viewers went their own way. The station’s viewers texted in their votes, giving it to McCain 87 percent to 12 percent."

Well, we all know which candidate Faux News wants to win...

same can be said about the other 7 "news" networks

I wasnt surpsised to see people bidding up Obama. Let me say something that will probably cause a flood of cashing in on Obama. On fox news, throughout the last two debates, both have shown the republicans winning. On that last debate it showed that of all the people who watched the debate, 87% said McCain won and 11% said Obama won.

87% for McCain again.

Great! Got a link?

the text vote you are referring to is still ongoing.
posted 6 weeks ago
Ah. Would it be against the rules of hubdub if i did a text vote for McCain?
posted 6 weeks ago
Yeah it's still going on (which is why I didn't request settlement) but 87% is pretty decisive. I still don't understand why the hell anyone would bet on Obama.
posted 6 weeks ago
I knew I should have bet more on McCain.
posted 6 weeks ago
Probably because they didnt understand how conservative fox is. Whenever you bet on a question, read the background.
posted 6 weeks ago
I bet every penny i had available as soon as the 12 hour mark was done. I couldnt beleive that people were betting up Obama!

Remember that text voting is highly corruptible, Ron Paul won every republican debate according to text voting.
posted 6 weeks ago
Yes but this is fox news. I dont think there has been a debate in history that fox news didnt say the conservative won.
posted 6 weeks ago
destry,
You are 100% right that text polling is highly corruptible. Fox polling says more about the viewers than the election. Ron Paul did win every debate though.
posted 6 weeks ago
Well lets hope McCain doesnt suffer the same fate as ron paul.

If Obama is elected I'm stocking up on guns and Bibles before he outlaws them both.
posted 6 weeks ago
I hope people know that was a joke.
posted 6 weeks ago
And i hope you realize that thats seriously what im doing!
posted 6 weeks ago
Well, I have enough Bibles but I'm seriously worried that Obama, with the help of Pelosi and Reid, would help pass something similar to the Brady Bill. I don't particularly need another assault weapon right now but if I see one that I like, and I have the money, I want my constitutionally guaranteed right to buy it.

Its not so much the fact that i do want a machine gun. its that i want to be able to have a machine gun. Because i know that if im ever not allowed to have a machine gun thats going to be the day that i really want a machine gun.
posted 6 weeks ago
...and your chances of being killed by that very machine gun are a lot higher than by the burgler or whatever you want defend yourself against...but it always happens to the others ;-)
posted 6 weeks ago
Haha! Bad news man, you can't have a machine gun. Automatic weapons are illegal in the US. All legal assault rifles sold to civilians in the US are semi automatic. From 1994 to 2004 it was illegal to buy an assault rifle period. Even if it was semi automatic. I really don't want that to happen again. The 2nd amendment guarantees the rest of our rights.
posted 6 weeks ago
Dont speak out against guns. I happen to own several pistols and with proper instructions it is very easy to avoid any accidents. Every american should have the right to bear arms. That was the constitutional right given to us by our forefathers. Obama clearly shows he doesnt give a rats ass about the constitution. With his anti gun rants, his breaking the constitution by supporting acorn which registers people to vote like a 100 times he shows that he is against the constitution. If he gets elected we can just kiss that piece of paper goodbye.
posted 6 weeks ago
horatiomonty,
If you don't know how to use an automatic weapon then don't handle a loaded automatic weapon.
posted 6 weeks ago
There you go. I also dont know how to handle a automatic weapon so i wont. I can handle a rifle though. And a shotgun. Do you own any guns potatp?
posted 6 weeks ago
Definitely. I still don't have enough though. I really want an SKS but a good one is expensive.

Do any hunting? Or do you just like the safety of knowing that if a robber ever entered your house you could kill him in 25 different ways?
posted 6 weeks ago
Both and target shooting. Gotta love fried squirrel and deer jerky.
posted 6 weeks ago
I used to do a lot more hunting than i do now. Eating food you caught and cook yourself adds a whole new aspect of it!

Anyway i finally found a link to finish this thing. McCain 87% Obama 12% undecided 1% http://gabriellecusumano.blogtownhall.com/2008/10/15/fox_text_message_poll_for_the_last_presidential_debate.thtml

The argument that you are more likely to injure yourself with your gun than burglars is ridiculous.

You should have the right to injure yourself if you'd like to, and I don't see how the government can decide whats best for the individual as long as it harms no one else.

The only reason it's illegal to kill yourself is because of the debt of duty (and sometimes straight debt!) it puts on others.
posted 6 weeks ago
No kidding! If i want to take the burglar out while killing myself who has the right to tell me i shouldnt?
posted 6 weeks ago
Why isnt this question settled already??? Mutliple sites have been named.
