Will the British government acquire stakes in any other bank by the end of 2008?

Gordon Brown has just negotiated a £37 billion deal to bail out the banking sector and act as a 'rock of stability' that the UK Prime Minister claims other governments will copy.
The UK government confirmed that it will pump taxpayer money into Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB and HBOS in an attempt to prevent the UK's banking sector from melting down. The treasury's wide ranging plan includes cracking down on 7-figures bonuses and shareholder dividends.
The government will take the largest stake in RBS, giving £20 billion to take a 60% stake in the bank; and £17 billion in the expanded Lloyds TSB/HBOS group to own up to 45.3%.
Bank CEO and chairman heads have been rolling, and the carnage may not yet be over. There is word that Barclays may yet ask for a piece of the government bailout pie. Will they, or another bank, give the British government stakes?
