Tom Chambers, the actor from Holby City, says he hopes to put Fred Astaire-style dance steps back into the movies after waltzing off with the Strictly Come Dancing title last night.

He and his partner, Camilla Dallerup, a Danish-born professional dancer, beat Rachel Stevens, the pop singer, and her partner into second place.
