
When will the Bank of England announce the UK recession has ended or is ended?
The Bank couldn't say when exactly the economy entered recession or when exactly we might expect a return to normal, but expects the recession to at least last well into 2009.The economic contraction in may be somewhat similar to those of Sweden, Finland and Norway in the 90s, 'which were deep but relatively short-lived.' We shoudn't expect a long drawn out crisis as was the case in Japan.
