WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors have drafted an indictment against six Blackwater Worldwide security guards in last year's deadly Baghdad shootings of 17 Iraqi civilians, The Associated Press has learned.

The draft is being reviewed by senior Justice Department officials but no charging decisions have been made. A decision is not expected until at least later this month, people close to the case said.

Isn't the title potentially somewhat inaccurate? People were killed, but it's not clear that it was murder:

The wikipedia page cited by neuronexmachina has, "The US State Department has said that "innocent life was lost" while U.S. military reports indicate Blackwater's guards opened fire without provocation and used excessive force." Therefore, if we don't call this crime murder, then we are splitting legalistic hairs. I have to admit that if Blackwater is indicted before the suspend date, the indictment will probably not use the word "murder." But in the context of major mainstream news media, "murder" could actually be used. I hope that somehow Blackwater is brought to justice, but it doesn't seem likely during this administration.
