Thank you to every one of you who voted for us in the Open Web Awards for Best Social News Site . We’re delighted to say that out of a list of websites which included giants such as Digg.com and Mixx.com, we came in second, with first prize going to the lovely Peter Shankman at Help a Reporter Out .

Through an online nominating and voting process, the Open Web Awards recognizes and honors the top achievements in 26 categories. Quite a variety of competitors in the social news field from juggernaut digg to 'i am news' who doesn't seem to have a discernible website. Who will win this prize? People don't read the news because it is of much use; they read it to show how much they know and how well they can analyze it. This is where Hubdub differs from Digg or Reddit.
