Will the Supreme Court take the case againest President-elect Barack Obama?

Voided

Although the market asks a newsworthy question and I endeavor for the market to be reposted, the original starting odds were not correct. I would suggest reposting with odds closer to 75%-80%.

Background:

A case that challenges President-elect Barack Obama's name on the 2008 election ballot citing questions over his citizenship

has been scheduled for a "conference" at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Conferences are private meetings of the justices at which they review cases and decide which ones to accept for formal review. This case is set for a conference Dec. 5, just 10 days before the Electoral College is scheduled to meet to make formal the election of Obama as the nation's next president.

The Supreme Court's website listed the date for the case brought by Leo C. Donofrio against Nina Wells, the secretary of state in New Jersey, over not only Obama's name on the 2008 election ballot but those of two others, Sen. John McCain and Roger Calero.

This will suspend on December 4th. Will settle after the U.S. Supreme Court makes their decision.

~~~Date~~~ ~~~~~~~Proceedings and Orders~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nov 14 2008 Application (08A407) refiled and submitted to Justice Thomas.
Nov 19 2008 DISTRIBUTED for Conference of December 5, 2008.
I'd be happy if he'd just give the court his original birth certificate. Why wont he? His own relatives have apparently said that they witnessed Obama's birth in Kenya. Not Hawaii. Obviously he doesn't know for sure where he was born though.
everybody knows that he was born in a manger
Also Pelosi, Reed, and Biden brought him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Listen to this recording (at 12:30) where the ambassador of Kenya says there is a monument at Barack Obama's birth place in Kenya!
i been skeptical of this whole deal. then after f-o-f and others brought it to my attention i researched it. still couldn't find no MSM source's saying anything about it. so i get a few emails and their saying this and that about the supreme court. so i go to SC website and sure enough there is at least 2 cases..this one and the one by berg. souter denied berg's and this one. this guy got PO'd cause the clerk jerked him around. i didn't post what he said the clerk did cause 1 - not relevent 2 - i had no source other than his word. can you imagine what the USA will go through if it's proven obama ain't eligible? i'm movin in with dragonfang for protection. :O)
you know, I may be a simpleton here, so please forgive if needed, but ...
I Dig Obama. Now at least. destry coverted me.
I, a 13 Year Veteran of the US F__KING Marines, has to show a valid "county" birth certificate to get a driver's license, WHY the HELL can't the President-Elect of the US F__KING United States do the same. It is usually a simple process for anyone who WAS born in the US.
I'm sorry, but this issue just crosses by goose.
Barack Obama has a Drivers License in the state of Illinois. Also served as a United States Senator, where he had to show proof of age and residency. Does anyone believe that if there was a microscopic ounce of truth to this, the Republicans and McCain would have fought it from before the DNC.
destry,
a) I'm pretty sure Obama got his drivers license before the birth certificate became a requirement (2001 where I live.)
b) Proof of residency is not a birth certificate. It can be a bill from the electric company.
c) The RNC and McCain never jumped on this because McCain was born in Panama. He has a similar problem.
@pulloverthatasstoophat
You are absolutetly correct. I didn't know when law went into effect up there. It really appears to me that if he wasn't constitutionally able to be president then Hillary would have made a big deal about it in Primaries. I just think this is the right wing blogosphere looking for something to get excited about.
@destry: Mr Berg is Hillary's lawyer - this is not new news. I don't know if there is anything to this or not, but Barack's consistent and obstanant refusal to show a valid original birth certificat only fuels this speculation. This problem would go away instantly - all 18 lawsuites and these questions on Hubdub too, if he would just produce the documents - like any other US Citizen would.
oops - I meant to type *certificate* in the last post
@destry:
Law went into effect June 21, 1788 up there.
It says "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."
destry,
I agree with the whole right wing thing but it is the Supreme Court's responsibility to make sure that the president elect is actually eligible to be president. The whole point of the Supreme Court is to uphold the Constitution.
destry - i was skeptical of the whole birth certificate deal when it first was brought up. i tend not to use blogs and biased websites when creating a question or researching one. i wish i still had the link where the guy tells what the clerk did to him so i could post it in the comments. in the berg case the FEC and DNC both filed motions to dismiss the case. the FEC had no business getting invovled imho. only reason i can think of as to why they did was to cover their butts. if obama ain't eligible the FEC will have a blackeye. i would say the standards of getting a Drivers License is much lower than running for prez. a Drivers License doesn't make anybody eligible to be prez. i don't know how tough the process is to run for senate in Illinois, but again i would say it's not as high as running for prez. don't it make you the least bit curious as to why obama doesn't want to show his orginal birth certificate? this guy claims the thing on factcheck.com and obama's website (allegedly) that says obama had duel citizenship makes him non-eligible. i saw it on factcheck but haven't checked to see if its on obama's website. if the whole deal is bogus the supreme court will hopefully make it clear.
