Will the AWOL Spider on the International Space Station be found alive before settlement date?

Settled as No

No news at suspend date.

Background:

Astronauts lose spider in space station
Last Updated: 5:19AM GMT 20 Nov 2008

The bug was taken into space aboard the shuttle Endeavor last week, but was reported missing after crew found its tank empty.

But Nasa managers have insisted that the orb-weaver was not exactly lost, just temporarily misplaced..

"We don't believe that it's escaped the overall payload enclosure,"

“I’m sure we’ll find him spinning a web sometime here in the next few days."

By-the-way, I was searching for a suitable picture, and found a spider monkey - one can only imagine this will be the reaction of the astronaut that finds the spider.

I was thinking of the initial settings for this question:

25% found alive, 25% found dead, 50% not found at all.

I'm feeling sorry for the spider. I don't think I would want to be "temporarily misplaced" in space by a NASA crew. Nothing like a bureaucratic press release. (He will be found in the scrambled eggs tomorrow morning).

They'll have to bring a bird on the next mission to catch the spider...

If they lose the bird, they'll have to bring a cat on the next mission to catch the bird...
