Here's some background to the possibly knighting of John Howard -

I'm moving the suspend/settlement date to April 24 2009 when any new knighthood announcements will be made.

Well ... he did get that fancy freedom medal from his 'good friend' George Bush ... now a knighting is starting to sound less ridiculous (although still not less palatable)

Can we move the suspend date on this back to mid June 2009? The honours lists are only published twice a year, so the last chance for a knighthood in 2009 will be known when the Birthday Honours list is published in June.

Well he came close; John Christopher Howard was knighted for services to the community in Edenthorpe, Doncaster. But that's not John Winston Howard, former PM!
