How much money will Arkansas man receive from McDonald's for lost cell phone?

Settled as No money or anmount undisclosed

No further news has been found (in fact, many sources are claiming the whole thing was a hoax or nascent scam).

Background:

Background: On November 21, Phillip Sherman filed suit against McDonald's. Unlike other law suits against the fast food restaurant, Sherman did not get burned by hot coffee or get fat. His law suit is a result of a cell phone that he left at the Fayetteville, Arkansas restaurant on July 5.

The phone contained photos of Sherman's unclothed wife Tina. The law suit states that the photos and the Shermans' address and phone number were posted on the web. Tina began receiving offensive calls and text messages related to the photos. According to The Register, the photos have since been removed from the web.

The Shermans are seeking $3 million in damages from McDonald's.

What if they reach a settlement in which the amount is not disclosed?

I would say that we should settle it as 'No money.'

There is no choice for 'undisclosed settlement' or a 'gag settlement' (no pun intended, *smirk*) and in all probability that is what McDonalds will do, just to get rid of the em-bare-assing incident or would that be indecent???

QUICK! take pictures of your wife (or wives) and leave your phone in a store, hire a layer like John Edwards or the French looking J. F. Kerry and you just might hit the jackpot!!!

I flagged this question. The first option should say 'No money or not disclosed.' Also, the question only refers to money that changes hands. Gag settlements will not be included.

At least the trial lawyers try to get a few miniscule crumbs of the billions these big corporations like to steal from the middle class and put it back in the middle class peoples hands. hurray for trial lawyers the only true defense we have from Corporate Welfare. My tax dollars paid for AIG corporate execs to take a two week spa trip less than a month after the governemtn bailed them out! I do not see the corporate executives of Citibank cancelling their bonuses or selling their yachts. I do not see the Big 3 automakers cutting corners..they just went to DC to beg for money each in their own corporate jet which cost 20,000 roundtrip each.
So go ahead joe the plumber, mike the electrician, mary the senior citizen and Phil Sherman wanna be porn movie maker sue the crap out of them!!!

@deanthoreau - How did McDonald's steal money from you? Every time I give them money they give me something in return, food, not the greatest food, but they didn't force me to eat there. How much money did they steal from you?

How do they reach these figures? Magic 8 ball? RAND() function in an Excel spreadsheet?

McDonalds steals money from me daily; and I never eat there. they steal money by: 1. purchasing various goods and services form a small tiny little corporation known as ConAgra, you might be familair with them...It is where every form of corn, in a processed manner, comes from. ConAgra, receives billions upon billions of dollars in corporate welfare...Where do you think that comes from? the bush money tree? it comes from middle class taxpayers like me!....
2.And to continue, have you ever looked at the tax return that McDonald's files? I guarantee the US citizens on Hub Dub combined together pay more than Mcdonalds in taxes.
3. Additionally, Have you ever looked at the nutritional contents of those Big Mac's you are ordering or for that matter those supposed "healthy salads" at McDonalds? Those 'free choice' meals you are ordering are costing US Taxpayers billions in health care costs, diabetic testing materials now marketed to 10 yr olds cause type 2 diabetes is the fastest growing disease in teens, except for clogged arteries that should be in a 60 year old are now in teenagers and pre-teens. Who do you think pays for this?
4. Do you really think that your tax dollars float on an island somewhere and only pay for...libraries, police, education and "welfare mothers"
The WELFARE MUTHA's that are raping this country are major corporations who receive hand-outs, freebies, and are not mandated to accept responsibility for any of their actions. Of course these Corporate heads are the same ones who quietly convince you it is the fault of the 22 year old impoverished woman with a child that is sucking up your tax dollars...and you should stop them....the entire time major corporations have their hands in your pocket, in Uncle Sam's pocket and are not just emptying it,,but leaving us with massive debts to every other country in the world.
5. Next time you say yes to McDonalds, thinka about the ecological imprint your meal leaves on this earth ( read omnivore's dilemma);who do u think is paying to clean up that ecological imprint?
6. think about the unhealthy meal you are eating (nutrition guide)
7. think about the money McDonalds receives from you (in the form of your tax dollars) so they can 'research' a tastier french fry;(federal government budget)
8. think about the person who works at McDonalds for a non-liveable wage, that has burns on his arms from the grease in your burger and he can't afford to go to the doctors cause that 10 dollar co-pay is 3 hours work when computed (after tax dollars)(read nickle and dimed).

these are simply one or two of the thousands of ways McDonalds and other corporations are stealing from me and you!

The sooner people realize their actions do not occur in a vacumn and for every action they take has a reaction (Physics 101) our planet, our health, our world view will evolve to such a degree that this country just might have a chance of seeing its' 300th birthday.

SO SUE baby, Joe, mike, nancy, Phil SUE!

1. I'm against pork barrel spending too... I support less government.
2. I highly doubt that.
3. People don't have to eat there... they don't have to make stupid choices.
4. I agree... the tax rates are too high.
5. I don't place my faith in the supposed 'consensus'.
6. That's why I don't eat there very often.
7. Less government, please!
8. Of course it's a non-live able wage... it's a place to learn some skills, pay for college text books and move on.

omg, i could write several thousand well documented pages of retort; but alas as the good book says; "one should not cast pearls before the swine"

(The term “pearls before swine” comes from the Sermon on the Mount, a famous speech given by Christ to his disciplines. It means that people should not waste pleasant or good things on people who will not appreciate them.)
posted 1 year ago
@deanthoreau - Are you referring to the sermon that the Most Merciful Messiah, the Lord Barack Hussein Obama delivered on the Temple Obama at the mount of Denver Invesco Field? If so, the pearls before swine analogy is applicable.
