Will the FDA recall any Melamine tainted Baby Formula products in the next two weeks?

Settled as No

There have been no reports of any recall by the FDA of any Melamine tainted baby formula products as of 12/9/08.

In fact, there may not be a basis for determining what necessitates a recall, since the USDA has not determine what levels are safe.
"The latest results showed that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has yet to decide what amount of the dangerous chemical, if any, is allowed to be produced in foods and packaging throughout products imported to and made in the United States."

There are some standards allowing some Melamine in food products in the US, but these have recently been decreased and may not directly refer to amounts allowable in infant formula.

Background:

U.S. Health Officials have found a baby formula that tested positive for Melamine in one sample recently taken. Is this the tip of an iceberg, or is it as they claim, a single instance? This will suspend on Dec. 7th and conclude on Dec. 9th. Will settle as "NO" if a recall is not made by 2359 Pacific Time on the 9th.
