Fox News: The chairman of the British Lap Dancing Association, speaking at a legislative hearing Tuesday, made an odd assertion, given his livelihood — a lap dance is "not sexually stimulating," he said, the Guardian reported.
Simon Warr made the seemingly contrary statement to a British parliamentary committee as part of a hearing on the country's Licensing Act.
"You are saying that the purpose of a lap dancing club is not to be sexually stimulating?" asked one member of Parliament.
Warr responded: "All right, the entertainment may be in the form of nude or semi-nude performers, but it's not sexually stimulating."
The reason for Warr's strange stance on the effects of his industry may have something to do with new regulations proposed for such establishments.
Lap dancing clubs are currently licensed the same way as other pubs and clubs, but some argue they should instead fall under the licensing of sex encounter establishments.
