Background: Bohinj mayor Franc Kramar has supported the idea with seven other mayors in Upper Carniola region. The president of the Slovenian Olympic Comitee has stated that Slovenia is ready to host the games and that they has an advantage because they never hosted the games before(although it was also stated that Slovenia had a big role in 1984 Winter Olympics organisation). Proposed Olympic village towns are Bled or capital Ljubljana. Biathlon would take place on Pokljuka, ski jumping in Planica, alpine skiing in Kranjska Gora and Maribor, cross-country skiing on Krvavec mountain and indoor sports in Ljubljana, Kranj and Jesenice.
