Is Simon Cowell retiring from Television?

Current forecast: He remains on all three for next season (62% chance1%)
Combining all predictions, the current most likely outcome is He remains on all three for next season with a probability of 62% (up 1% in last 1 day)

After declaring Britney Spears in awe of him, Simon Cowell intimated that he may be taking a break from TV: "The contracts are all up at the end of next year and what I may well do is stop actually being on TV. Give up the panel.... The thing that gets me is the schedule. Every day of my week is filled for the next year. [Fame] takes a lot and it's something I never wanted. I'm a music business person."

Currently, Cowell is wrapping the fifth season of X-Factor and about to start on the second season of Britan's Got Talent and the seventh season of American Idol.

The spotlight has been doing well by him, with a networth of over 200 million dollars and a bright shiny Bugatti Veyron to drive. Of course the news that a stalker bugged his car may make him rethink his career options... Will Simon actually drop one or more of these shows? Or is this perhaps just posturing for contract renewals this spring?

Settlement details: May suspend on significant rumor, but will settle only on official confirmation. If a show is canceled, or not returning that will not count towards settlement. He can only 'leave the show' if it goes on without him.

Not sure when this information will be released, the suspend date may move around until answer is known.

@dean - yes, that's my guess as well. He's making way too much money to stop now. On the other hand, I think the majority of his money probably comes from AI and XF.. Britan's Got Talent could probably be dropped without entering the papuer house I bet and it might loosen the schedule up a bit.

@dean LOL

I *think* he actually produces X factor and Britain's got talent (a show that is so bad they should be under the Trade Descriptions act for misleading advertising) so if he drops anything it would probably be American Idol.
