Will Indiana Guardsmen receive compensation from KBR for toxic chemical exposure in Iraq?
Current forecast: 26% chance

Combining all predictions, the current forecast is that this is 26% likely to happen (unchanged in last 1 day)
Sixteen Indiana National Guardsmen have filed a federal lawsuit in a U.S. District Court in Indianapolis alleging that defense contractor KBR Inc. knowingly exposed them to large doses of a harmful carcinogen. The Guardsmen were protecting an Iraqi water pumping plant shortly after the U.S. invasion in 2003. KBR has issued a statement denying the allegations that they knowingly exposed the guardsmen to chromium dichromate at a water pump plant they were protecting. Several of the guardsmen have suffered illnesses concurrent with such exposure.
KBR (formerly Kellogg Brown & Root) was a subsidiary of Houston-based Halliburton (formerly headed by Vice President Cheney) until the companies split late last year and remains one of the largest defense contractors in Iraq.
This question should settle as a "yes" if KBR is forced to offer any financial compensation to the plaintiffs.
