Will Wal-mart sell iPhones by February 28, 2009?

Settled as Yes

Wal-Mart has officially announced the availability of the revolutionary Apple iPhone 3G at nearly 2,500 Wal-Mart stores beginning Sunday, December 28, 2008.

http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/19512/

Background:

A tech blog reported on Dec 4 2008 that Wal-mart is rumored to be selling Apple's iPhone in the future: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/12/04/apple-to-sell-a-99-4gb-iphone-at-walmart/. The blog even has pictures of official training manuals that were supposedly given to employees. The blog reports that Apple is developing a $99 4GB for the retailer.

Currently, Apple only allows iPhones to be sold through AT&T and Apple Stores.

Will Wal-mart sell any type of iPhone before February 28 2009?

Looks like we may have our settlement, or at least reason enough to suspend....

<iWalmart shoppers this month began to notice something strange. Some Walmart store owners have already put up the decals and cardboard standups for a new ad campaign advertising the iPhone at Apple. The ads state simply, "iPhone 3G: Now at Walmart".

According to prior reports the handsets will go on sale at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, December 28th.

News was posted on 12/22 at 8:02 AM . . . last wager was on 12/19 so all wagers will be settled within the next several hours...right now, I'm about to make a sweet potato casserole, so Hubdub may have to wait a bit longer.

Thanks to Deanthoreau for another great job in locating settlement info! You've really been a big help!
