Will trials begin on large mammals to induce suspended animation using Rotten Egg Gas by 2011?
Hydrogen sulfide, otherwise known to pranksters worldwide as Rotten Egg Gas, may in years to come just end up saving your life. Or perhaps make long trips a bit more bearable if your are Marsward bound.
Studies in mice have shown that breathing Hydrogen sulfide in small and controlled doses reduces the metabolic rate to a significant degree without the need to artifically reduce the body temperature of the subject and that they returned to normal within 30 minutes of normal air supplies being restored.

Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source.
Question: Will clinical trials begin on large mammals to chemically induce a state suspended (or reduced) animation using Hydrogen sulfide by the start of 2011?
For the purposes of this question, a large mammal is a pig, sheep or other similiarly sized mammal or larger. Rabbits, rats and other similiarly sized animals are too small.
The question can settle as yes if the term "suspended animation" is not used provided that it is clear in the reporting that the goal is a reduction in or suspension of metabolic activity.
To settle as yes the trial need only begin by the suspend date. It need not be complete nor even successful.
