Will Dick Cheney be arrested for War Crimes before 1/1/10?

Background: During an interview with ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl Mr. Cheyney confessed to the commission of a war crime.
"KARL: Did you authorize the tactics that were used against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed?

CHENEY: I was aware of the program, certainly, and involved in helping get the process cleared, as the agency, in effect, came in and wanted to know what they could and couldn't do. And they talked to me, as well as others, to explain what they wanted to do. And I supported it.

KARL: In hindsight, do you think any of those tactics that were used against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and others went too far?

CHENEY: I don't.

KARL: And on KSM, one of those tactics, of course, widely reported was waterboarding. And that seems to be a tactic we no longer use. Even that you think was appropriate?

CHENEY: I do. "

According to the BiPartisan senate Armed Services Committee of which John McCain is an esteemed member and active participant. The Inquiry into the Treatment of Detainees in U.S. Custody Report published this month states The decision to torture individuals was made by Bush and Cheyney before the CIA ever asked for legal cover fo the torture they had been ordered to commit.

Despite this creeps admission and the ASC's findings I think this snake will weasel out of it all, but I'm betting with my heart that he IS arrested, tried, convicted and executed in a highly public venue with camera's rolling.

And I hope Bush is right next to him.

Counterpoint: We are all still alive and free because of courageous men. My only regret is that we didn't have Conan the Barbarian in office - "crush your enemies, see them driven before you" has a nice sound to it!

You call a preemptive strike on a country crippled by over a decade of economic sanctions courageous? We have bombs, they have shoes. Yes, a brave man will take his sophisticated army into that battle and boast.

In case you've forgotten, we never apprehended the people who put 9-11 together. Wasn't THAT the original selling point of launching a military attack?

Even Bush says Osama is irrelevant. So much better we'd invade a country that had nothing to do with 9-11 and create the boogey monster he said was in the closet.

I agree with Constable.
Over many years, (not just the last 8) America has positioned itself as "policeman of the world". Rightly or wrongly, this has given us some friends and probably given us even more enemies. In this world, there are people that want to do us harm, because of that role. When they are captured, they do not deserve a lawyer, 3 hots and a cot. They are not entitled to American jurisprudence. Our enemies do not want to discuss current affairs. They want to cause us great harm. Obama frightens me because he would like to have discussions with people who have sworn to kill us. It is a naive belief that our enemies want to be reasonable. A small percentage of the followers of the religion of Islam have fanatical beliefs that preclude peaceful negotiations. For them there is no negotiation anyways. Convert or die. VP Dick Cheney understands that sometimes torture can extract information which prevents further deaths. This does not include the abuse of Abu Ghraib prisoners, which I cannot condone.

As for Osama, - he is a dead man. Otherwise he would have tried to intervene in our recent elections, as he did before. unfortunately, Bush did not apprehend Bin Laden, but he did drive the most wanted man alive into the exile of a cavemans existence. I wish he had been captured, but I rest easier believing that he is dead and gone forever.

Although I understand the sentiment of the market and will continue to let it stay, the use of the word confession is misleading and puts too much of a political spin on the marketplace. Therefore I've removed the confession bit in the actual market question, again this is being done not to censor debate, but too lessen the spin on the market so that new users don't just see it as a political talking point and see it as a open market on whether Cheney will be arrested for war crimes.

Kind Regards,
Ryan

Dick Cheney and GW Bush have weasel jelly around them. Imagine, you can shoot someone in the face and have them apologize!

Maybe Cheney ought to be waterboarded to see what he remembers about this.
