Will the Sensex claw back to the 20,000 mark in 2009?
Background: India's BSE Sensex gained 10,000 points in less than 12 months to touch the 21,000 mark in January 2008, before it crashed over the next ten months.

India was among the fastest growing markets in 2007 and the slide of 2008 made it among the worst performers in the Asia equity scene.
Although the Sensex is at 9687points (as on Dec 23, 2008), bellwether Indian stocks are now available at reasonable valuations. Retail investors will want to grab this opportunity and more and more Indians might explore equity as an investment option.
Does this mean 2009 will see a new peak for the Sensex? Wait and watch.
