What will be the lowest price of Brent Crude Oil in 2009?

Background: With oil prices falling rather steadily for a while, how low can we expect them to go? Some analysts are calling for prices to fall somewhere between $20 and $25, while others expect the price to ratchet back up into the mid-$70s. What's your analysis?

We'll be going only by the closing price for each day.

Anyone who's better than I am at reading the charts would like to tell me what the lowest is so far?? All these different oil questions have me pretty confused.

Hmmmm, why is it people are tossing thousands of H$ in to the $30-35/barrel market without even looking at the current price of Brent Crude? Surely they'll be in for a surprise when they realize that the price hasn't been under $42/barrel yet this year.

Seems like you're looking at different data than I am. I show Brent up the last two days, now up to $46.

Seems like folks are unaware that Brent crude is substantially more expensive than light sweet crude......

Yep, which means this market is at a substantial discount, but you're going to have to wait until suspension to collect. Historically CL (or WTI) has traded higher, but times have changed.
