Will Bernie Madoff be charged with additional federal crimes by March 20?

Settled as Yes

Madoff was charged with a total of 11 crimes by the prosecutors, 10 more than the original single charge filed in December, which was the only charge that had been made by the time the question was created. Question is suspended for settlement as of Madoff's guilty plea. Wagers made after the plea was known are voided and refunded.

Background:

Background: Could be that Madoff is cooperating with the feds to name co-conspirators. Could be that the feds plan to charge him with conspiracy. Could be that the IRS goes after him. Could be that he gets hit with money laundering charges. Seems unlikely that the feds will go to court with a single-count indictment.

CatEds notation:
Question has been edited to allow for a settlement date of March 20 in order to keep the question from dragging on indefinitely. Question will suspend as originally created on Sunday, March 15.

Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source.

Settlement requested Thu 12th Mar 8:43am PST by frogchop: This market should be suspended. He has not only been charged with 10 additional counts, he has pled guilty to all 11 charges. What more is there to add? The question specifically states additional charges like money laundering, etc, which were a part of the charges he pled guilty to. Unless there's some issue of symantics I'm missing, it should settle as yes.

I sincerely hope they charge him before the 10 weeks are up. I wonder if you should've included a 'no new charges by suspend date' option.

Probably. I'm considering a question on "How many people will sociopath Madoff rat out before he pleads guilty."
posted 46 weeks ago
Rat out...ha...I can see it now...the Jew Crew. Just think, by this time next year there may be a Jewish mafia network flourishing from within some Federal prison.
Oh...where my brain doesn't take me with this....since I can't envision them being able to hire any skinheads for protection and the blacks seem to have the corner on Islam in prison....who will the Jew Crew bribe for protection...the Italians?

He just has the look of a snitch. I wonder if that POOR BASTARD who offed himself was in on the scheme. If I were Mad Dog, I'd blame him, just because he's not around to defend himself. I'm sure that somehow the twisted right wing retards who frequent this site as often as they frequent their little cousins' bedrooms late at night will find a way to connect this to Barack Obama.

Curious, I agree. Just look at the background which says: Seems unlikely that the feds will go to court with a single-count indictment.

And mentions money laundering as a specific example of an additional charge.

My concern is the delay in suspending the question led to some confusion and some bad bets, but the answer to the question seems clear. Madoff was charged with additional counts beyond the initial fraud indictment.
