Will Marnie Pearce lose custody of her children?
Background: Marnie Pearce, a 40 year old British woman has been ordered to serve a three month jail term for adultery in Dubai. Orgnaly she'd been set for a 6 month term, but an appeal court halved that. Marnie was found guilty of cheating on her Egyptian ex-husband last year. She is accused of committing adultery with a British man. She claimed the man was just a friend.
The now ex-couple have two sons, aged seven and four. With her current conviction and three month jail term, by the end of 2009 will it be reported that Ms. Pearce has lost custody of her children?
In comments to the British media last year, she has expressed concern that she could lose custody of her children.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office told CNN that the FCO was providing consular assistance and said the British Embassy in Dubai was in regular contact with Pearce.
