Background:

Background: NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Despite record prices, a grinding recession and the absence of two big advertisers this year, NBC says it's having no problem filling spots for Super Bowl XLIII.

The network has sold about 90% of its 67 spots for the championship game scheduled for Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla., according to NBC spokesman Brian Walker.

Walker said advertising is "on pace or ahead of past Super Bowls," adding that NBC is "in active negotiations with about a dozen potential advertisers."

NBC is charging, on average, $3 million for a 30-second spot. That's more than the $2.7 million average price for Super Bowl XLII in 2008, when the New York Giants' narrow victory over the New England Patriots was broadcast by Fox of News Corp (NWSA).

To make this a little more fun, we're going to make this an "in-play" and allow the question to remain open during the game.

Looks like a few previews are starting to slip out...maybe some possible surprises and still time to get in on good odds on some of these!

The second link above appears to be dead already, but I found some of the same commercials here:

Be sure to check the tags. Some are new for this year and some were last year's.

My favorite was the Coca-Cola, Polamalu, commercial.
Nice spin off of the old Mean Joe Green classic.

I think NBC is the best, although I guess that doesn't count. The LMAO bit was hilarious!

Doritos gets the top spot. I suppose a ball thrown at the bosses groin always prevails. :)

Plus I think the creators were just 2 dudes ...not some big ad firm. They won a million bucks from Doritos in some contest for these spots.
