Will Tesla hold an all-electric circuit racing championship race series be before 2016?
Background: Two groups are reportedly in discussion with Tesla Motors to set up an all-electric racing championship. The championship would reportedly feature only Tesla Roadsters.
Several factors could hinder an attempted launch. First, there is significant doubt about Tesla's financial strength. Also, there is a limited supply of Tesla Roadsters available.
What may be most striking is the championship's potential location. The groups are in the Middle Eastern areas of Dubai and Qatar. Currently, Tesla does not have any Middle Eastern distributors.
If the series starts, the races are guaranteed to be interesting. The Roadster's batteries take several hours to fully charge.

: Either this topic needs to be settled or reworded. The wording of the question and the wording of the results were already met in 1994 by the Formula Lightening racing series. This series pitted college teams against each other at various race tracks across the country every year to see which car could beat all of the others.
Unfortunatly, it's now defunct, but here's a site that lists the series schedule for 1994:

In addition, if you count kart racing as circuit racing (since there isn't anything in the question to disqualify it), that has been done before too with fuel cells:

Same thing applies for the open, 3a, and 3b classes of TTXGP.
