When will the next Commerce Secretary actually be confirmed by the Senate?

Settled as March 16th - March 31st

Senate approves Locke as commerce secretary
Tue Mar 24, 2009 7:30pm EDT

Obama tapped Locke to head the Commerce Department post four weeks ago. The son and grandson of Chinese immigrants sailed through the confirmation process without any of the tax problems that plagued several other Obama nominees.

He was confirmed by the Senate on a voice vote. His approval filled one of the last slots in Obama's cabinet, with only Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius still awaiting confirmation as secretary of health and human services.

Background:

Background: To be honest the whole continuing ridiculousness of just getting a damn Commerce Secretary nominated and confirmed is getting a bit annoying. While it's safe to say that Obama's team has fouled up in their choices, it's also safe to say that whatever foul up have occurred they better get their 'stuff' together...

So when will the US actually have a working Commerce Secretary?

Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source. Settles on positive confirmation votes within Senate of a commerce secretary nominee.

ryan, much as I like your question, why do we have to blame Obama with everything that goes wrong with his administration?

Why can't we blame the people who he chose for THEIR errors in not thinking before saying "yes" to the offers that were made to them? Why does everything rest on Obama's shoulders? Lots of people do it, I know, but let's recognize that there's enough blame to go around, and Obama has control of very, very little of all the US's mistakes..there's a few hundred million of us to help share the blame...

Hmmmm....I'm just trying to remember who got blamed for all of the *uck-ups that happened in respect to Katrina.....
It's Obama's administration. If someone that works for you screws up try telling your boss that it's not your fault.

The refreshing thing is that he is actually willing to accept responsibility for what goes wrong, even when it is not actually his personal screwup.

@bigken1: It is called the vetting process, it's Obama's responsibility to appoint worthy candidates. plus, these days they go so deep into everything to make sure this type of thing doesnt happen (usually) that it's almost like he's trying to sneak these guys by the senate despite their past actions.
