What will be the #2 film the weekend of March 6th?

Settled as Another Film

Tyler Perry takes a distant 2nd with 8.5 million followed by Taken and Slumdog and (gasp) Paul Blart. Seriously, Paul Blart in its 8th week beat Jonas Brothers nearly 2:1.

The other two new movies planned for release this weekend apparently chickened out and moved their release dates leaving Watchmen with no competition whatsoever.

Background:

Background: The eagerly anticipated Watchmen is being released the weekend of March 6th, to very little competition.. but someone has to come in #2!

Settlement details:Box office numbers are confusing since all of the media reports Monday on studio estimates. The *actual* box office totals aren't released until Monday evening. Those actual numbers are what we use to settle the box office markets. The numbers are generally quite close, but certainly not exact.

You can check www.boxofficemojo.com to see when the actuals are released (and lots of other useful information!)

@Jenni Are you on drugs or what, we can't figure out what's coming in 1st and you want us to guess what's coming in 2nd??? Oh I know, bet on the one we think will come in 1st, and it will come in 2nd!

@cici - Ha! That's an interesting strategy :) Although, probably not a profitable one for this week with such a strong front runner. Well, I guess 50$ pays back 1000, so, you never know, it could be pretty sweet. Best of luck!

I saw The Reader last weekend and wow. Best movie in the last six months. It felt more honest than any other film of its genre than anything else I've seen. Beautiful film.

I'd guess either Slumdog or Madea. I didn't see where Tennessee or The Horsemen were coming out this weekend. The Watchmen will be #1 for sure. So it looks like "Another Film" is a sure bet. But what do I know, I really imitate a vacuum cleaner on these types of questions.

The Jonas' Brothers movie is the equal to the Beatles "Help" movie. It may do OK.
