Wall Street - The Poem

Wall Street, a place of cons and schemes,
And fortunes built on doctored dreams,
And fees and spreads and in-bred cronies,
I counted fifteen thousand phonies.

The SEC patrols these parts,
Whose tortured ways it maps and charts,
With num’rous rules, it seeks to beat,
White collar crimes that ‘fest The Street.
But really, guys, what kind of rules
Could cleanse this gilded nest of fools?

Michael Silverstein, February 2009.

Nice to see there are still plenty of optimists about.

I'm not optimistic, I'm just patiently awaiting the right buying opportunity for 6000. ;-)

I said that I would be happy to lose my 15K in bets, but now I am not feeling so happy.
Got to keep reminding myself of my earlier pledge.

At different times I've predicted on all three outcomes of this question, and I believe I've lost money with every one! Then, I get sucked in to keep on predicting to try and recoup my losses. This is way too stressful for me!!

"He who hesitates". Someone just stepped in front of me for 7000 @ 50% (or sold "neither"), and now it's 80% a second later. Got a good sale off at least, but would have liked to load up at 50%.

Actually, aside from my hubdub portfolio, this is great news.
Possibly - the bottom has been reached.

uncle! Everybody wants the Dow to move up....I do not think it is a true bottom unfortunately.

Ha! We're nowhere near a bottom. What fundimentals have changed in the market? Have home values gone up? Construction contracts reappeared? Corporate earnings back on solid ground? Interbank lending back to normal? Nope. The market just wanted a rally and took the slightest bit of good news from Citigroup and a few other sources and ran with it. This is a classic bear market rally, but expect the dow to sink well under 6500 again before the end of the year. I wish it would be over, but this is going to be a stoney bottom that we bounce along for months.

Froggie, this may be a bear market rally, but the market will bottom long before all those things that you mention happen.

Can we take the fact that those new hubdub Google ads down the side have stopped advertising "the-end.com" as a good sign?
