When will Iran release more classified or sensitive US documents via Gnutella?

Settled as On or after April 26th / never / none reported

Iran's crack hacker team has been unable to get anything else...eyt.

A data security company in Pennsylvania this weekend confirmed that sensitive schematics for the Sikorsky VH-60N helicopter—better known by the call sign "Marine One" when used as personal transport for the President of the United States—had been leaked over the Gnutella peer-to-peer file sharing network, and appeared to be in the possession of a probable cybercriminal in Iran.

The documents—which included the complete avionics package for the VH-60N, describing its electronic systems in detail—were first discovered floating around P2P networks last fall by analysts at Tiversa, a company that specializes in detecting P2P data leaks. The documents are believed to have originated on the network of an unnamed defense contractor based in Bethesda, MD, where an employee had installed a file-sharing client configured to share the contents of the hard drive indiscriminately.

Though officials at Tiversa are understandably reluctant to discuss the nature of the leaked documents in detail, some information can be gleaned from local news footage showing several of the documents and their file names. In addition to the avionics schematics, one of the documents appears to provide a cost comparison of proposed cockpit upgrades for the VH-60N developed by Maryland-based Lockheed Martin and Iowa's Rockwell Collins. The comparison appears to be geared toward demonstrating the superiority of the Rockwell Collins package, but at press time, representatives of that firm were unable to supply any information about its provenance. The contract for the cockpit upgrade was ultimately awarded in 2006, suggesting that the document may date from around that time. One of the file names visible in the report appears to pertain to a contract with Maryland-based avionics contractor Vyalex, which did not return requests for comment.

Settlement details: As reported by a major mainstream news source. NOTE: any well-known file-sharing network--such as BitTorrent--will count as a 'YES'.
