Will the 75 year old woman win her appeal to not be beaten and/or imprisoned in Saudia Arabia?

Settled as Nothing is reported by settlement date

We've been unable to find any news about this.

Background:

Background: The sentencing of a 75-year-old widow to 40 lashes and four months in prison for mingling with two young men who were reportedly bringing her bread has sparked new criticism of Saudi Arabia's ultraconservative religious police and judiciary.

Khamisa Sawadi, who is Syrian but was married to a Saudi, was convicted and sentenced last week for meeting with men who were not her immediate relatives. The two men, including one who was Sawadi's late husband's nephew, were also found guilty and sentenced to prison terms and lashes.

The woman's lawyer, Abdel Rahman al-Lahem, told The Associated Press on Monday that he plans to appeal the verdict, which also demands that Sawadi be deported after serving her prison term. He declined to provide more details and said his client, who is not serving her sentence yet, was not speaking with the media.

I looked at some pretty bad pics of people who'd been lashed before I picked the one I did. The others were far too graphic. I want to go rescue this poor old lady, this is horrible.

I think if our Gov't wanted to tear it up with the House of Saud I'd get on board so fast. But that's not going to happen because it's our Gov't that keeps them in power.

No no no, ROTFLOL stands for Really Outrageously Tragic For Love Of.... Littleoldladys. Yeah. But back the the question, i agree that bringing an old lady bread is one of the worlds worst crimes and should be taken very seriously but i think they may be going to a little to far.

Seems to me ths is primarily a bet on how long the appeals process in Saudi takes. Judging from the update above, the odds fairly reflect that, though clearly the sentence will be either reduced or 'vacated' at some point.

Worse than a death pool imho...
