it might depend on North Korea. Remember what the markets did on 9/11? These evil countries can wreck havoc on our markets. God bless our Country!

Or as in the Bob Dylan song...God is on OUR side...no matter which side you're on...

rogerkni, I really appreciate the fact that you keep throwing good money after bad and keep giving me very attractive entry points to increase my winnings by the end of this year. You can temporarily mitigate your losses by throwing more money into the pot, but in the end it's where the Dow closes at the end of the year and it IS NOT going to be < 6000!
So, please keep doing it, you have been tremendous help to me!

@tuff_sledding: I'm curious - why is 6000 the lowest possible price target in your opinion?
posted 33 weeks ago
'cause that was the March capitulation low (6440) and we are >3000 points above 6000. The recession is easing and the banking system has not collapsed. It's not going to be smooth sailing from here and I don't expect the market to go up much from here, I would not be surprised to see a retrenchment and pullback into the low 8000s, but not anywhere near 6000. Remember the market always anticipates. The expectations no longer call for a total economic collapse...
We are still 5000 points below the peak we saw last year, so I think we are actually pretty close to where we should be, all things considered. Of course, I could be wrong, feel free to bet against me.

Hey, Rog, here is another market you may want to put some money on. http://www.hubdub.com/m46861/What_will_happen_first
The betting is overwhelmingly against the dow dropping below 7k - better straighten them out....

9000+ seems obvious. Why would anyone think differenly?
posted 28 weeks ago
@ buckeye: 'cause the fall is a time when the market falls, more often than not. the rally may have gotten a bit ahead of reality, I've been expecting a correction for some time.

or not.....

@tuff If you are right I think you should, you must have a masters in economics if you are right.
posted 24 weeks ago
@ birdy: No, actually, I am a pediatrician. With varied interests. I run an intensive care unit for sick and premature newborn babies. No formal education in economics or business. But I pay a lot of attention to such things...
