greggles When will Drupal 7.0 be released?
Background: Drupal 7.0 is the next "major" release of the social publishing platform Drupal.
The 7.x branch, maintained by Angela Byron and Dries Buytaert, includes a new testing framework which should theoretically shorten the release cycle. Historically the release cycle has been approximately one year with 3-6 months spent in "feature development" and 3-9 months spent in "code freeze" (where only bug-fixes are accepted). Dries Buytaert recently announced that September first will be the beginning of the Drupal 7.x code freeze.
