The FBI are investigating the online leak of an almost finished copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a month before the film's cinema release. The Hugh Jackman film was downloaded an estimated several 100,000 times from file sharing websites on Tuesday. 20th Century Fox confirmed the copy had now been removed and the FBI informed. The studio behind Wolverine stated: "The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." "The courts have handed down significant criminal sentences for such acts" the studio noted.
The studio added that because their content is forensically marked they should be able to trace the person who uploaded it. A brief caption at the beginning of the film reads 'Rising Sun Pictures' and is dated 2 March, 2009. According to its website, Rising Sun Pictures is an Australian visual effects company that worked on the film and is currently working on production of Terminator Salvation. However, there is no evidence to suggest the company was involved in the leak. The Federation Against Copyright Theft said a leak of this kind was extremely unusual as pre-release security had been tightened in recent years. Access to a whole film is severely restricted, with post production workers being given small portions of the movie to work on and measures put in place to stop it being copied on to disc.

Nothing on the MPAA website about the leak, not--that I was able to find--on the FBI site. Hmmm...
Fox News issued a statement yesterday (6 April) in which it confirmed that Friedman had been fired following the hoopla caused by his decision to review an unauthorised version of Wolverine ahead of its official box office release.
"Fox News representatives and Roger Friedman met today and mutually agreed to part ways immediately," said the media firm.
"Fox News appreciates Mr Friedman's ten years of contributions to building foxnews.com and wishes him success in his future endeavors. Mr Friedman is grateful to his colleagues for their friendship and support over the past decade

I admit the humor may be too subtle for some folks' taste, but I liked it.:-)
Yes, the article to which I linked in comment #9 was a complete joke; hence the lack of either settlement or settlement request, and the presence of a smiley, and the article tage humor, and the italicized book/movie titles... I could explain it, but that'd take all the fun out of it. But here's some shortcut material that could
if you where to look under details you will find a bequest for settlement has been made .
also your spelling needs to improve . idea try a spell checker
tage? that'd? tut tut

thease are your words ( hence the lack of either settlement or settlement request)
I've just gotten confirmation from a source on the LAPD, officer Rolo Tomassi, that three people have been arrested and charged with the shocking internet leak of 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Production company RSP had famously denied involvement, and a major FBI raid on an Dallas Internet hub caused major damage to businesses in the area. And, just days ago, longtime Fox News online columnist Friedman was probably/possibly/maybe fired for reviewing the bootleg and basically advocating online piracy. Online speculation has run rampant as to whether or not the leak was actually an inside job meant to drum up publicity for the bad-buzz plagued production, or perhaps allow Fox to write off losses should the film under-perform at the box office.
But now, just a week after the storm broke, and to the relief to film executives everywhere, three suspects have apparently been caught. We don't know anything except the names of the suspects, but I'll bring you any and all updates. The men arrested have been identified as Bruno Richard Hauptmann, Ferdinando Nicola Sacco, and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. More on this shocking twist as it develops. Fox head honcho Tom Rothman has expressed relief and satisfaction over the arrests.
"Hopefully the arrests of these three shady looking immigrants, who are in no way connected to 20th Century Fox, will resolve any speculation that the leak was intentional and that Fox itself is to blame."
Interesting link, however we should wait for a more reliable news source than the Huffington Post
huffington post is used as a question maker /or to finalise many q on the site.
i have no reason not to trust them , i certainly did not make it up .
it has already asked for settlement some time ago look under details
1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollo_Tomasi
Rollo Tomasi is an imaginary bad guy from the movie L.A. Confidential
2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruno_Richard_Hauptmann
Hauptmann was the German man executed for the abduction and murder of the Lindbergh baby.
3) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacco_%26_Vanzetti
Ferdinando Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were two Italian men executed--perhaps wrongly--for the murder of two Massachusetts workers.
In other words, the Huffington Post article was illustrating the triviality of the Wolverine leak by juxtaposing it with a handful of real and imaginary criminal cases. It obviously worked for some, and not for others...
