Will Hawaiians Need Special ID to Buy Gas In 2010?

Background: In a move completely ignored by the corporate media, the state of Hawaii has introduced resolutions in the Senate and House to initiate a study by the Insurance Commissioner to determine how best to deny gasoline purchases to uninsured motorists.
featured stories Hawaiians May Need Special ID to Buy Gas in 2010 In order to do this, the Hawaii Senate and House concur that “motor vehicle insurance companies issue motor vehicle insurance cards to insured drivers and to require that the card be either scanned electronically or examined by the sellers of gasoline in order to purchase gasoline.”
If these bills pass in the regular 2010 session, residents will not only need the state’s permission to buy gasoline but will in essence need permission to work and buy food, that is unless they walk or ride bicycles to work or the grocery store.
Since the September 11, 2001, false flag attacks, the federal government has worked overtime to impose national ID schemes on the American people. The September 11 whitewash commission recommended “national standards” for “identification documents,” including driver’s licenses in 2004.
“There needs to be consistent standards to ensure the integrity of both the document and the issuance process,” said commission member Jamie S. Gorelick, a former Clinton administration Justice Department official who is a member of the CFR and linked to numerous globalist foundations and the CIA (see this Muckety relationship map).
Christopher B. Cannon, Utah Republican, told the commission the government needs to “take something that everyone accepts now and have it standardized in a way that it really identifies the people who are holding onto it.” Skeptical lawmakers characterized this as a stealth national ID plan brought in “through the back door.”
“I’ve always been concerned about a universal ID card or system, somewhat like in Nazi Germany,” Rep. Barry Goldwater Jr. said at the time.

I guess that I won't need gas for my snow blower but what if I want to mow my lawn? Will I need special ID to buy a goat?

This particular issue does not seem like a bad idea to me.
I drive Dial-A-Ride as a contract driver for the local municipality. On a daily basis, I carry ambulatory and para-transit patients to and from medical appointments. One of my biggest problems comes from poor drivers, who probably should not be on the road to begin with.

Uninsured drivers are usually uninsured for 2 basic reasons:
Either they cannot afford insurance,
or they were denied insurance after a series of driving mistakes.
I am not supportive of the second group, who should not be driving to begin with.

As for snow blower or lawn mower operation - there could be a provision to allow one gallon purchases without showing ID.

I am voting NO on the wager, because I do not think it will pass within a year.

I think this move is total bullshit and nothing but an end run around the hotly contested Real ID Act of 2005 which was passed by being snuck thru on an appropriations bill that spoke to relief for Hurricane Katrina.

17 States found ways to oppose this costly and ridiculous mandate, which was set to go into effect in May of 08. Had it been implemented on schedule, those who did not comply would have been banned from flying, even domestically. Those without would've been denied entrance into federal buildings, denied the right to open a bank account, denied the right to vote, denied federal benefits and more.

This law is STILL scheduled to be enacted but due to the opposition and extremely high costs at this time of economic devastation, it's simply been delayed. They are seeking ways to make it more 'palatable' to the public and phase it in. It will NOT make us any safer.
It will simply enrich some data companies, some bio tech companies and put us further under the surveillance of the Gov't and give them a way to consolidate our personal information....using PRIVATE companies outside the oversight of Congress.

Last I'd heard, the company that would be centralizing all of our data for this retarded experiment was Choice Point. That would be the same company that accidentally sold over a hundred thousand folks personal info to identity thieves and also the same company that wrongfully purged tens of thousands of names from the voter rolls, oddly enough of which most were democrats.

We had this discussion in Europe, and now you must have always an ID. Drivers license is not enough, must be special ID. If not you get an expensive ticket.

Oh, I love ChoicePoint, and would love to see them take over the reins here; I like the idea of knowing that my personal information will be held in not-so-safekeeping by a mistake-ridden Atlanta corporation owned in is entirety by a British/Dutch outfit.

It amazes me how little REAL reporting has been done on Real ID. In Michigan I was working with Rep. Opsummer and Rep. Steils to oppose this legislation but our candy ass Sec of State and the good Gov. Granholm have embraced the concept. Just can't figure out how to scare up the $ to traipse down that road.

As for ChoicePoint....don't even get me started.

One of the largest problems with have with ID in this country already is that people that work for DMV's and Sec of States help people falsify documents for folks...if they think centralizing our info into ONE data base is going to eliminate THAT they are crazy. It will make it so much easier.

Sorry, meant 'Real ID'...not ID in general terms.

I agree with conspiracy2riot:

It reminds me of a quote from Daniel Webster: "There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

I wonder how long it will be before they take it the next step and you find out you need your Real ID to by junk food, (or worse, any food), lumber, clothing, electronics, or a can of paint...!
