NFL: Who will start at QB for the Minnesota Vikings in game 1 of the 2009-2010 regular season?
Brett Favre
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/boxscore?gid=20090913005
Background:>
The coach of the Vikings, Brad Childress, is notorious for sticking with QB Tarvaris Jackson even while Jackson threw 7 incompletions in a row in the 2nd half of the Vikes lone playoff game last season. Childress traded up to select Jackson in the 2006 draft & has a lot invested in being proven right about his selection. Will newly acquired Sage Rosenfels be given a fair chance to compete for the starting QB job in training camp? Or has Childress already decided who the starter will be?

LEVELAND (Reuters) - Adrian Peterson ran for three touchdowns to help veteran quarterback Brett Favre make a winning start for the Minnesota Vikings with a 34-20 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Favre threw for one touchdown and 110 yards to launch his 19th NFL season.
His six-yard TD pass to Percy Harvin with a minute to play in the third quarter helped secure the opening-day win.

You know if Farve went to Minnesota, Wisconsin would never speak to us again. It would get ugly, maybe civil war would break out. Everyone owns guns up here. Minnesota ranks number 1 in the nation registered firearms per capita and Wisconsin is number 2. In Minnesota there is a registered weapon for every man, woman and new born child. With all the drinking (Wisconsin ranks numbers 1) it would be like a 17th century musket battle only everyone’s wearing red plaid hunting clothes and those hats with the ear flaps.
Farve would be nuts not to consider a year with this team. Berriman, Peterson, and now this kid Harvin who got 17 TDs last year on a bad ankle. He won’t have to throw far. You could run a simple passing game based on traps to keep the D honest on the run. A QB is the missing piece.
Vikings work on Wildcat
May 30th, 2009 - 1:06 PM by Judd Zulgad
The day after the Vikings selected Percy Harvin in last month’s draft, wide receivers coach George Stewart said he hoped the team would use the multi-talented receiver in a variety of different ways.
So far, so good. On Saturday, the Vikings experimented with using the “Wildcat” offense, lining up Harvin at quarterback.
Running back Chester Taylor and wide receiver Darius Reynaud also are getting looks as the quarterback.
