Will Cuba release any political prisoners before July 1st 2009?

Settled as No political prisoners get early release

There's been no news of any such release...

Background:

Background: PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) - President Barack Obama on Sunday (4-19-2009) suggested that Cuba release its political prisoners.

Earlier this week, the Obama administration lifted restrictions on Cuban-Americans who want to travel and send money to their island homeland and freed U.S. telecommunications companies to seek business there. Havana responded, saying it was open to talks on issues including human rights - a topic long held off-limits.

Obama, speaking to reporters at a closing news conference at the Summit of the Americas, suggested that Cuba could further respond by releasing political prisoners and cutting fees on the money that Cuban-Americans send to their families.

Settlement details:Cuban President Fidel Castro must release at least one prisoner before the end of their sentence and publicly announce that it is an overture to the Obama administration for lifting restrictions against Cuba.
As reported by a major mainstream news source.

"Some other weird outcome not anticipated." you mean like they release some thugs and call them political prisoners?

Tuff,
That could work.

I threw that outcome into the mix, because there seems to be scenarios that I do not foresee when creating questions.
Without looking it up, didn't Fidel release some mentally disturbed and otherwise dangerous criminals while Carter was in office. Then somehow send them over to the US as political refugees?

Fidel emptied out his prisons and mental asylums and sent everyone on a one way trip to America. I think we still have some of them in our own prison in Atlanta. Fidel is probably still laughing his ass off every time someone brings up this subject.

Also, isn't Fidel's brother Raul the one in charge down there these days?
