Will the NCAA create a new law regarding Facebook at its next regular meeting?
Background: Recently, a freshman at North Carolina State, Taylor Moseley, created a Facebook group titled, "John Wall PLEASE come to N.C. STATE!!!!" (Wall is rated the top college basketball prospect.) As a result, the university gave Moseley a cease-and-desist letter saying that the group violated NCAA rules by influencing the recruit. Approximately 700 fans joined the group before it was renamed, "Bring a National Title back to NC State!" The group still features a photograph of wall. Similar groups still occur for schools like Duke, Kentucky, Liberty, Memphis and Villanova
In recent years, the NCAA has created rules relating to new technologies such as text messaging. However, these rules have dealt with coaches' communications with prospects.
According to Adam Kissel, director of the Individual Rights Defense Program at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, said the NCAA can impose rules on its member colleges. But universities can't punish students for expressing an opinion.

Question creator's note: There are currently at least two Facebook groups titled, "John Wall Please Come to NC State," with different spelling and punctuation. I am not sure if either of these groups are the original group.
