Copy as new has its dangers... why not have an Edit or Edit as New buttton(s), which would allow the author (only) the chance to correct errors either keeping existing stakes or voiding them... (of course that could give authors betting on their own question an unfair advantage, so that perhaps should only be available while the question is 'new' - I'd favor extending the new period anyway.)
