Which class will be updated next in Team Fortress 2?

Settled as Multiple Class Update

The War Update
December 10, 2009 - Robin Walker

So: how is the War update different from our other class updates?

In many ways, it's not. Like any other class update, the War update will reveal three new weapons each for the Demoman and Soldier throughout the week, as well as some maps, achievements, and surprises, right up until the day of release, when everything we've been teasing goes live.

Background:

Background: Valve have been releasing individual class updates at regular intervals for Team Fortress 2. The updates include achievements for each individual class, coupled with new weapons that can be swapped to replace the existing weapon inventory for that class.

The classes that have already been updated are; Pyro, Spy, Heavy, Scout, Sniper and Medic.

This leaves Engineer, Soldier and Demoman as the remaining classes to be updated.

Engie... DEFINITELY engie. I am absolutely 100% sure of this. Fo' real! Like, I'm betting REAL moneys on this with my friends. Honesly, I have been predicting the order of updates and always being right. I still remember going on a server and saying that I thought the scout update would be next, and hearing someone say: "Yah, and did you hear that his unlockable will be a hockey stick?" Basically, everyone laughed at me, but months later, Valve announced the scout update! :D I basicallly predict every update by how often each class is played. For instance, prior to the medic update, the medic was a rarely-played class (still is to some extent). Prior to the pyro update, pyro was a crap class that no-one played. Everyone knew that the pyro needed a boost. Before the heavy update, the "new" pyro basically replaced the heavy, and he was never played anymore. So guess what happened? Scout update, I noticed how little people played scouts. This was to some extent a result of natascha, better snipers, better pyros, etc. So I guessed scout would be next. It was. Finally, we were down to spy, engie, sniper, soldier, and demoman. I sorta calculated the order of these to be: spy, sniper, engie, soldier, demoman. I figured the spy needed an update more than a sniper, since the rifle is really good, but lo and behold, Valve threw a curveball and release BOTH updates at once! This was a surprise, but still fit in the order. Now, look at who is played the most out of the last few classes! Engy is played far less than soldier/demoman. Soldier is next; he can suck on some levels. Demoman IMO is totally awesome the way he is, and won't need an update yet. Besides just the engie, the only other possibility is soldier vs. engie. And I don't think Valve will do another massive update next.
