How high will gas prices go this summer in the US?
$2.700 was the magic number, as that was the price reported on 08/10 ($2.700)
Was $2.61 the week before and $2.691 the week after...and that was as high as it got!

Background:>
So how high will summertime gas prices go this year?
We'll be measuring data from the USEIA, United States Energy Information Agency, which is released every Monday. Prices tracked for this question will be those from June 22, the first report of actual summer through the report for September 21, the last day of summer and also a reporting date. Prices used will be those for 'Gasoline-All Grades" which takes into consideration all levels and formulations of gasoline. This price will be somewhat higher than that released daily by sources such as AAA, since it does include all grades, but it is easily to research on a weekly basis.
The question will suspend on Labor Day, although settlement can't be positively made for a few day to come. Labor Day may be when the peak is over, unless market conditions warrant other increases.
So play this question while you're home on Staycation this summer.
BTW...This week the EIA price is: $2.673
LAST SUMMER THIS WEEK IT WAS: $4.090
Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news sources or from results released by the EIA.
