Background: The 94th annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, held July 4th in Coney Island, will feature two-time defending champion Joey Chestnut against six-time champion Takeru Kobayashi, along with others.

Last year Chestnut and Kobayashi were tied at 59 hot dogs and buns at the end of the 10-minute contest. To settle the contest, an overtime round was held where Chestnut beat Kobayashi by finishing off five hot dogs and buns in shorter amount of time.
