In their second week of competition, Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance? beat NBC’s America’s Got Talent head to head and put Fox in the winner’s circle for the night with a 3.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.
Like last week, the 9pm competition between the summer reality flagships was close, but this week their positions were reversed, with Dance scoring the 3.1 demo rating in the hour and Talent grabbing the 2.9.
One of the few things ABC has to be happy about this summer is Wipeout. It was down a tick in the 18-49 demo from last week to a 2.6 rating, but is still doing well. On the other hand, I Survived A Japanese Game Show slipped 0.2 demo ratings points vs. last week to just a 1.4 rating. And the premiere of Primetime: Crime did two ticks better in the 18-49 demo (1.4 rating) than the Primetime Obama heathcare show last week.
In its second outing, NBC’s The Philanthropist slid sharply, down 25% in the 18-49 demo to a 1.5 rating, compared to its reasonable debut numbers (2.0 rating) last week. It’s first half hour had a 1.6 demo rating, and its second a 1.3, not a promising trend.
