How will Michael Jackson be laid to rest?

Settled as Other

Although family members had confirmed MJ's imminent "burial", his casket was, in fact, entombed within a mausoleum within the cemetery grounds. As that is neither buried (which assumes some being underground), nor on display this market will resettle as "other".

Those who already received their money for the "burial" settlement will keep it. Those with an "other" bet will now receive their winnings as well. Anyone who had bets on a different option will NOT lose their h$ twice, despite what it may seem from the emails.

Michael Jackson set to be 'plastinated'

Michael Jackson will live on as a 'plastinated' creature preserved by controversial German doctor Guenther von Hagens.

Von Hagens, who has caused widespread controversy with his practice of preserving corpses with polyurethane, today declared: 'An agreement is in place to plastinate the King of Pop.'

Von Hagens said that he spoke with representatives of the Jackson family 'many months ago' and it was agreed that his body will be plastinated and placed next to Bubbles, his late pet monkey who died and was also plastinated a number of years ago and is currently exhibited at The BODY WORLDS & Mirror of Time exhibition at The O2 in London.

I seem to recall that the Jacksons are Mormons. What does that church
have to say on the subject of burial/cremation/plastination/launching into space?
Maybe they'll just all get together and pray him back to life!

I read recently that he converted to Islam a couple years ago and that one of his brothers is as well. That might make a difference. Oh and I think he was a Jehovah's Witness, not a Mormon before.

It's the Osmond's that are Mormon's.

I think he'll just be buried on Neverland and make it a theme park, like Graceland.

That would be excellent, I have a far off cousin who is Norwegiac. Hopefully he would send me pictures.

Michael Jackson to be buried without his brain
http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/2009/07/05/michael-jackson-to-be-buried-without-his-brain-115875-21495043/

How will this settle if the body is buried and the brain is cremated?

IDK, its a little morbid to wait 2-3 weeks before burying him. I certainly hope they will let him RIP and just bury him already. Certainly his kids need the closure, right? I can't imagine how tough this is for them to never be able to get away from it. Everywhere they turn its in their face. The media frenzy will just begin again if they finally announce in 2-3 weeks where he'll be buried. They need to let it go, Its just a brain, its going to be hardened and tests will be performed on it.

Word on the street today is that MJ's body was never in the casket that was brought to Staples Ctr. in L.A. As of this writing, my guess is that it's still in "cold storage" at Forest Lawn or similar facility's morgue. Seems likely that standard burial will result, even though I wagered on "On Display", simply because the example shown by his odd behavior in the last ten years or so might suggest an unconventional outcome. I mean hey, people lined up for decades to view Lenin's body; I'm almost certain, in today's celebrity-worshipping culture, especially among younger people (that means anybody younger than me LOL), that they would line up and pay good money to view a well-preserved MJ lying in state perpetually. Sorry, just my comment on modern American culture.

Whats up w/ the big spike on cremation?? I've seen no news articles reporting that possibility. Did I miss something? Curious as a bidder and a fan.

Being buried in a gold casket seems like such a bad idea. I think he's going to be buried in a secret location and then there will be a treasure map that gets divided into 12 parts throughout the world. Collectively over the next 50 years, the holders of the maps will find each other, and then it will boil down to a mega-trillionaire retired politician that has collected 11 of the parts with his riches and influence and a poor little kid who's grandfather gave him the remaining piece before he died and the little kid will get the casket because the rich man only wanted Michael's body.
